I’m applying for the Lumos Scholarship, which funds any volunteer project around the world so long as it’s over 6 weeks long (and not religious in nature).
I’ve been scouring all sorts of volunteer agencies looking for somewhere to go, and I tell you what:
I’m just about sick of seeing white women holding brown and black babies with another 20 brown and black kids around her ankles.
Something about it’s just not right.
Maybe I’m just sick of seeing it, after having spent 4 years at a private Christian college, where all the white girls go to Africa over the summer and come back with facebook profile pics of them with little African babies.
